Garden Route and Karoo

We offer 3,4,5 and 6 night itineraries in the renowned Garden Route region (All accommodation included).
The Garden Route includes one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline, that is renowned for lakes, mountains, tall indigenous forests, amber-coloured rivers and golden beaches. The magnificent Indian Ocean coastline winds its way for some 200 km via George, through Wilderness, Sedgefield, Knysna and on to Plettenberg Bay, culminating in the Tstisikamma Forest - a fairyland of giant trees, ferns and bird life.
A wide range of leisure options, spectacular scenery and a mild climate guarantee an unforgettable holiday experience on the Garden Route, making it a top priority for foreign visitors.
When visiting the Garden route region, we recommend a visit inland to one of the most geologically interesting parts of South Africa, the Klein Karoo. It is renowned for its towering mountains and sheer gorges, and provides a stark contract to the lush Garden Route.

The town of Oudtshoorn, "Capital of the Klein Karoo", is well worth a visit, set in a semi-arid valley, it provides the ideal habitat for grand scale ostrich farming. The grandiose, old feather palaces are still to be seen, while ostrich farms can be toured, with the possibility of riding an ostrich. The Cango Caves (among the top ten most visited South African attractions) are a series of caverns and chambers naturally hewn out of limestone, situated just outside the city of Oudtshoorn.

The Little Karoo is known for its magnificent mountains, superb climate and spectacular night skies. Gastronomically it is famous for its dried fruits, Port wines and the widely appreciated free range karoo lamb. Quaint stopovers include Matjiesfontein, a nostalgic Victorian village and Prince Albert, an oasis at the foot of the rugged Swartberg mountains. The Swartberg Pass is considered one of the most spectacular mountain passes in the world, with breath-taking views at every turn.
